Insurance: I am an out-of-network (OON) provider and do not bill insurance companies directly. Please check with your insurance company for details of benefits.
If life feels rough or overwhelming, it can be hard to reach out. Thank you for taking the time to learn how I might help.
I specialize and have advanced training in working with people who are experiencing obsessions, compulsions, or intrusive thoughts. I am passionate about state-of-the-art OCD treatment, and I have trained at (and trained others at) multiple OCD intensive outpatient programs, treating people experiencing the most severe version of this condition. If obsessions and compulsions are impacting your life, please get in touch for help.
I also specialize in working with people who are in intense emotional distress, including people who feel like their lives are almost unlivable. Some of my clients are navigating the worst moments of their lives or challenges that feel impossible. I work with uncontrollable anger, PTSD, personality disorders, self-harm, difficulty with emotion regulation and distress tolerance, and chronic suicidality. I help my clients find ways through to the other side.
I have extensive experience with health psychology and chronic pain, including experience in hospital and oncological settings. I appreciated how deeply connected physical and mental health are and enjoy working to help clients navigating health and pain concerns to rebuild a life that is more in line with their values and goals.
As a co-founder of The Affirmative Collective clinic, it is perhaps not surprising to learn that I am strongly committed to expanding access to affirming, evidence-based care. I have significant experience in supporting transgender and gender diverse clients, including therapy services as well as providing letters of support for gender affirming surgery.
I am very comfortable working with clients coming from higher levels of care, such as residential or intensive outpatient programs. I also have expertise in religious trauma, deconstruction, and integration. If any of this describes you, you are in good hands. I know how to help.
Therapy with me is active and collaborative, and I am both kind and direct. I take a more casual approach and focus on creating a warm environment to help facilitate a sense of safety and collaboration. My primary training is in CBT and DBT, though I also incorporate a fair bit of ACT. I am a White, queer, chronically ill but otherwise currently able-bodied cis-gender woman currently deconstructing my relationship with my gender. My academic research focuses primarily on trauma, PTSD, marginalized identities, and sexual assault. I have a special expertise in working with men, including men who may not view themselves as “therapy” people and men who experienced sexual assault. I also work with the unique stresses of first responders and trained as an embedded therapist for firefighters.
