Therapy often makes the most impact when it moves us toward a deeper understanding of who we are and what we need in order to create the life we want. I frequently work with clients seeking to explore and understand their unique identity as informed by gender, sexuality, neurodivergence (e.g., ADHD, autism), or adverse life experiences such as trauma and chronic stress/burnout. My previous work in gender-affirming care and college counseling center settings has informed my passion for providing a safe and affirming space for individuals to explore their identities and, in the context of marginalization and trauma, work to reclaim their lives.

I am a White, queer, nonbinary femme/woman who approaches therapy through an anti-oppressive, intersectional lens. I integrate evidence-based treatments, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). I am also trained in cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for trauma. I value collaboration, goal setting, and client feedback in therapy and approach sessions from a client-focused perspective, meaning that while I may help equip you with knowledge and tools to improve your circumstances, I trust that you are the expert of you.

I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community and providing affirming care for sexually marginalized clients. I am experienced in providing client care related to issues related to sex and sexuality, including polyamory/non-monogamy or kink. I also have experience providing letters of support for gender-affirming care.

I further enjoy working with people who identify as or suspect they may be neurodivergent. As someone who struggled with ADHD symptoms my entire life and yet was not formally diagnosed until my early 20s, I understand the importance of accurate and timely identification. I also recognize that despite the wide diversities of experience that occur with ADHD, many individuals with the disorder are often overlooked because they don’t fit a stereotyped idea of what people think ADHD looks like. Perhaps you have felt invalidated by family, friends, or even other professionals because you were seen as "too successful” or “too organized” to have ADHD. Perhaps cultural differences impact how your symptoms may be perceived or you have been unable to get assessed for ADHD previously due to high costs and limited availability of services. At The Affirmative Collective, I offer affordable, sliding-scale ADHD assessments that are empathetic and culturally sensitive. It is my hope that regardless of the outcome, assessment can equip you with further knowledge and confidence to move forward in your life.

Besides being a therapist, I'm also a researcher, graduate student, rescue dog mom, musician, avid gamer, antique collector, lover of spooky things, and general creative spirit. If you think I might be a good fit, please don't hesitate to reach out. I can’t wait to hear from you!
